Hospice Southeast New Brunswick was created in 2004 to promote life-limiting conditions. It was a long-standing dream to open a residential hospice to serve individuals in southeast New Brunswick. After a successful capital campaign co-chaired by Dennis Cochrane and Dr. Janice Cormier, the Maison Albert House welcomed its first resident in July 2021. The project was made possible due to the generous contributions of several corporate partners, individuals and all three levels of government including all municipalities in southeast New Brunswick. Please see Recognition for more details.
Maison Albert House is a 10-bed residential hospice located at 156 Pleasant St in Moncton that supports residents and families from across Albert, Kent, and Westmorland counties. The facility offers 10 private residential suites, family rooms to accommodate short-term stays, as well as common living space, family kitchen, meditation space, family lounge and free parking. Visitors are welcomed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pets are also welcome at any time.
Palliative care is specialized healthcare for people living with serious and life-limiting conditions. The goal of care is to improve the quality of life for both residents and their families. Care is highly personalized to the needs of residents, and appropriate at all ages and any stage of the disease.
At Maison Albert House, we provide palliative care in a home-like setting focused on dignity and comfort. The care is highly personalized and supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents and their families. Care is provided 24 hours a day, and so is the access to the facility. The Maison Albert House is appropriate for those with a prognosis of under 3 months who may not be able to stay home, and do not require hospitalization.
Meet the dedicated members of our board who play a vital role in shaping the future of our organization and ensuring that we continue to provide compassionate and exceptional care to our community.
