Chief Executive Officer Hospice Southeast New Brunswick Bilingual (FR/EN)

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer develops and implements a broad range of strategies to support the Corporation, the residence, patients, staff and volunteers. This integral role will provide visionary leadership to a variety of operational projects and fundraising initiatives.

Key responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and accountability for core functions including program oversight, service delivery,
administration, operational, financial and human resource management.
• Lead, manage and ensure Hospice SENB’s annual fundraising and philanthropic objectives are met or exceeded.
• Provide forward thinking leadership to the Board regarding opportunities, risks, mitigating strategies
and timely remedies.
• Lead and manage a team of highly qualified, dedicated health-care and administrative professionals and volunteers.
• Oversee the administration of the day-to-day operation reflecting our core mission and values.
• Build healthy and productive relationships with government, health authorities and agencies, donors and industry partners.
• Act as chief spokesperson, promoter and representative to external and internal audiences.
• Foster a positive environment focused on innovation and high-quality, patient-centred services.
• Lead for excellence to ensure the success and sustainability of the residence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Extensive senior management experience in a complex environment, ideally within healthcare or a related sector.
• An excellent communicator in both French and in English, you demonstrate high emotional intelligence, you have built strong relationships and partnered and engaged with a broad range of stakeholders specifically provincial government, health authorities and agencies as well as industry partners.
• You have acted as a spokesperson with both English and French media outlets.
• You have led and managed in a service delivery environment with strong community ties.
• A successful track record and a facility of working with and reporting to a board of directors, setting and meeting organizational objectives and budgets.
• You have successfully attracted talent and created a positive workplace defined by high employee engagement and retention characterized by a commitment to inclusion, equity and diversity.

Assets

• Experience in developing and/or following strategic, operational and business plans, working with an accountability framework with key performance indicators.
• You have led or participated in fundraising efforts in the non-profit sector.
• Experience with or exposure to Carver’s Policy Governance® Model in Non-profit Organizations.
• You have experience within a hospice/ palliative care environment.
• You have managed a 24/7 operation.
• You are in progress or have attained a CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) or CAGP (Canadian Association of Gift Planners) designation.

Senior Sales Associate

Position Summary: 
We are looking for a motivated and responsible individual to join our team at Boutique Hospice Shoppe. Reporting to the Shoppe Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to supervise staff and volunteers and take on management duties in the absence of the Shoppe Manager.

Job Duties
• Provide an accurate and efficient checkout service
Engage customers to enhance loyalty and increase sales
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner
• Organize and rotate merchandise so it is displayed to maximise sales
• Evaluate and price donations to meet store guidelines
• Guide customers through the sales and donation process
• Promote upcoming organizational fundraisers and in-store events
• Open and close the store in a secure manner
• Meet and communicate with staff and executives
• Supervise staff and volunteers
• Administrative support duties
• Cover management duties in the absence of the Shoppe Manager
• Other duties as required

Hospice Residence Licensed Practical Nurse

As a member of an integrated palliative care team, we are looking for a motivated individual to provide care and support to patients and families admitted to this new facility. Reporting directly to the Head Nurse you will administer care in accordance with the integrated care plan.

  • Provide patient care within scope of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse, following the nursing process and established care plan;
  • Contribute to a secure and respectful environment;
  • Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Administer medications to patients as prescribed;
  • Understand and implement infection prevention practices;
  • Participate actively in rounds and care conferences and contribute to the elaboration of the care plan;
  • Provide direction and support to personal support workers and volunteers;
  • Work in compliance with all established Health & Safety protocols and policies
 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Graduate from an accredited LPN Program and a current registration with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses with minimum one year experience in a similar position.
  • Have knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of Palliative Care.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication skills; leadership skills and the ability to give and take direction.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Able to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
  • Able to do shift work
  • Fluent in English and French.

Under the supervision of the Head Nurse, you will be responsible to provide care in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

● Provide individualized personal and supportive care to palliative patients;
● Contribute to a secure and respectful environment;
● Participate actively in rounds and care conferences;
● Work in compliance with all established Health & Safety protocols and policies;
● Assist with in-house housekeeping duties.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:
● Graduate from an accredited PSW Program or a Resident Assistant (RA) Program with minimum one year experience in a similar position.
● Have knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of Palliative Care and the delivery of personal care services.
● Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of clinical and non-clinical personnel.
● Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, leadership skills.
● Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
